Rev. Vance Becker, former pastor here at First Ev. Lutheran, will be the featured speaker at a Salad Luncheon on Monday June 13 in the Fellowship Center. Pastor Becker and his wife Linda are currently serving as LCMS missionaries at Matongo Lutheran Seminary in Kenya, Africa. Pastor Becker teaches African men studying to be
pastors. Linda helps with music and helps train women in the Deaconess program. They will be on furlough in the mid-west this summer, speaking and preaching about mission work in Africa. Mark your calendar NOW so you don’t miss this chance to see We will begin at noon with devotions and a meal. Their presentation will follow. ALL women and men, are welcomed to attend. It will be fun to meet and greet the Becker’s. There is no charge for this meal.
An offering for the Matongo Lutheran Mission will be received and you are encouraged to give generously. Make checks payable to First Ev. Lutheran LWML or Vance Becker.  You may donate to Pastor Becker’s mission any time through the church office or at www.lcms.org/becker. At that site you will see a short biography of the Becker’s and a current photograph of them in Africa. Beautiful! Lots of flowers! (And he has no beard.) At this Salad Luncheon we will also be acknowledging three of our current honorary members who are turning 100 this year: Frances
Downer, Serena Stradtmann and Bernice Wolter. Birthday cake will be served. Please phone the church office if you are planning to come. We want to make sure everyone gets salad and cake.
