Back to School Orientation
Back to School Orientation
Back to School Orientation is held before our school year starts. This is a great time for students to meet their new teachers and unload their school supplies. Teachers can also lay out classroom expectations.
Blessing of the Backpacks
Blessing of the Backpacks
Here at First Lutheran, we value prayer. Students are asked to bring their school backpacks to our Sunday Worship Service as the Pastor will pray over the students and ask for “blessings” for their upcoming school year. The date for 2021 is still TBD.
All School Marathon
All School Marathon
Each Fall, Students collect pledges from local businesses and members from our community. After pledges are donated, First Lutheran students walk from school to Oak Leaf Park. There, they enjoy an afternoon of fellowship and refreshments with their friends.
Grandparent’s Day
Grandparent’s Day
We know how special of a gift Grandparents are that we want them to see what a day is like at First Lutheran! Their morning starts off with fellowship and coffee, followed by chapel with their grandkids, and activities throughout the classroom. We end our afternoon with special performances put on by each grade.
Christmas Program
Christmas Program
At First Lutheran, we want our students to share the Good News of Jesus and that story starts with His birth. Each year the students put on a Christmas Program. They share the story of Jesus’ birth through songs, skits, and Bible readings.
National Lutheran Schools Week
In January, National Lutheran Schools Week is celebrated. This week provides the network of over 1,900 Lutheran Church Missouri Synod preschools, elementary schools, and high schools with the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God’s work in Lutheran schools. Students celebrate by dressing up, participating in opening and closing devotions, and fun events.
Wolf Ridge
Wolf Ridge
Each year, 7th and 8th grade students attend Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center in Ely, MN. Here they learn life skills, join in team work, and enjoy God’s creation outdoors.
Preschool/Kindergarten Open House
Preschool/Kindergarten Open House
Parents with children who will be 3, 4, and 5 years of age on September 1st are invited to attend our Open House in late winter. During your personalized visit, you will have the opportunity to meet our educational staff, tour the classroom, and learn about affordable tuition options. Parents may also register their child for the upcoming school year.
Silent Auction
Silent Auction
In early spring First Lutheran hosts their annual silent auction and meal. Each class collects items to donate to the silent auction. Families are encouraged to bid on class baskets and other donations, as well as enjoy the delicious home cooked meal! In the past there’s even been a wine wall and pop pong!
Play Day
Play Day
Students from Zion Lutheran School in Mayer and Christ Community Lutheran School in Watertown will participate, bringing nearly 400 students and their families together for a day of play! Students get to compete in 3-legged races, jump rope, tug-of-war, and many more events!
