The goal of our “Catechism Classes” or “Confirmation classes” is that by the Holy Spirit working through God’s Word, each student will grow in his/her faith and come to appreciate all that the Lord wants to give to them in Divine Services and the study of His Word.
Confirmation Instruction begins in 5th Grade (for public school youth) and in 7th Grade (for First Lutheran School youth)
In 5th & 6th Grade, the class works exploring the Bible and important stories that point us to our Salvation in Christ.
In 7th and 8th Grade, they study Luther’s Small Catechism, learning the Lutheran Christian faith and how it applies to their lives as growing Christians.
